Not sure what you mean by "back ham".

If you're talking about the rear leg, yeah if you get it fresh (uncured)it's just like the shoulder, only bigger.

If you mean the muscle from the hog's back, commonly called Canadian bacon, or in Canada, back bacon, that has too little connective tissue and fat to be very good for pulled pork. It would likely dry out on you.
