What I prefer to use when money is no object is the McCormick brand, Gourmet Collection Chili powder. It costs 5 or 6 bucks for a couple of ounces, but it's good.

If I'm making up a batch of brisket or rib rub, I just use the standard chili powder, sometimes the cheap brands.
