brinkmann vertical smoker parts

by william thayer
(las vegas)

I have a vertical charcoal smoker and I'm not sure I have all the pieces to grill with. I have a bottom bowl, two iron grates and the vertical tube with a lid. Is there a piece missing? If not how do I use it?

Don't by a Brinkman electric smoker ! NEW
by: Kent

Works great unless your electric heating element goes bad, or breaks, like ours did. We have been trying for MONTHS (!!!) to get a new one. No one has them, and Brinkman will not give a date on when they might be available, could be several more months. So, my advice, DON'T BY BRINKMAN !!!
I never will again.

Brinkman smoker
by: Anonymous

Got mine at Lowes last june. Mine is green.
Going from bottom up.
charcoal pan sits in Painted bottom base.
vertical tube
water pan
Grate
top grate
lid
Hope this helps.
Also, go to Brinkman.com. Find your model and print out a manual. I had to call them because I was missing both grates in my un-opened box. Lowes would not exchange it because they had no more. Took about 10 days and they sent me the cooking grates I was missing.

Brinkmann Vertical Charcoal Smoker
by: Bill

Sounds like you're missing one of parts. If you just have the bottom bowl, that's the charcoal bowl. There should be another bowl that's used as the water pan. The water pan has to be there provide some moisture to the cooking chamber, and also to catch drips from the food.

To use it the charcoal is lit in the bottom bowl, wood is added to the charcoal (wrapped in a foil pack), then the center barrel section is put in place, with the iron grates in position (there should be mount brackets at two levels for the grates). Place the water pan on the brackets for the lower rack, and place the lower food rack directly on top of the water pan. The upper rack goes on the top set of brackets. Put the meat on, put the lid on, and start smoking.
