Brisket smoking times for thin and thick briskets

I've seen to smoke 1.5 hours per pound, correct? Shouldn't the smoking time also be dependent on the thickness of the brisket? I have a 9 lb brisket, but it is not very thick. Wouldn't the smoking time be less? Please help!

What is the rule of thumb for the brisket size for let's say a party of 10. How many lbs per person?

Hi, the 1.5 hours is only a guideline. Use a good quality temp gauge and use that to determine when it's done.
