Different Types of Lump Charcoal

by David Dantes
(Los Angeles, CA)

I use briquettes of oak, hickory, mesquite, MatchLight with mesquite, and Jack Daniel's.
Where do I find lump charcoal of all those woods?
I also use soaking wet smoking chips of all the above (except the MatchLight), and pecan and maple.
Do those have additives?
And, BTW, my Beer Barbecued Chicken cooked this way is FAMOUS!

lump charcoal types

All the lump charcoal I've seen was just labeled hardwood. I haven't found lump charcoal from specific types of wood.

Your chicken must be good. I want some!
