freezing pulled beef

I smoked a special cut of beef for a great pulled beef recipe. After I smoked the meat I froze the pieces to pull and add to bbq sauce next week. If there are leftovers of the mixture, may I refreeze it?

Refreezing Smoked Beef
by: Otto

Sure, go ahead and freeze the beef. But only if you've followed food safety guidelines, meaning, when you cool it, it has to be at or below 40 degrees, and when it's heated (when serving, etc), it needs to be at 140 degrees or higher.

Bacterial growth occurs within the range of 40-140 degrees. So reheat quickly, and cool quickly and your meat will be ok to refreeze.
