Grandma's Hot Toddy Recipe
I can't say it cures what ails ya, but this hot toddy recipe has helped me fight sore throat pains more than once in my lifetime. But don't take my opinion for fact. I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. The Hot Toddy Setup
My recipe for hot toddies is a simple one passed down from my dear old Grandma, rest her soul. She lived to the ripe old age of 95, but I can't prove the hot toddies helped her in that account. Who knows. She may have made it to 100 if she hadn't drinked 'em.This is how to make hot toddies Grandma's way. Grandma's Hot Toddy RecipeINGREDIENTSAbout 6 ounces hot water (170-175 degrees Fahrenheit) Two tablespoons honey Juice of one-half lemon One shot (1-1/2 ounces) of Jim Beam Whiskey
Add the honey to the hot water and stir until completely dissolved. Squeeze the lemon juice directly into the cup and stir. Add the Jim Beam, stir again and serve. I prefer to use honey in my hot toddy recipe, but simple sugar syrup can be used in its place. To make simple syrup, which is an ingredient in many drinks, bring one cup of water to a boil. Add two cups of white sugar, bringing again to a boil. When the sugar is completely dissolved, cool and store in a bottle in the fridge. It'll last nearly forever, and comes in handy whenever you need a shot of sweetness.
