I've smoked with rubs and deep fried with injection but never smoked with an injected turkey. I know it depends on each individuals taste buds but is it good? Any good recipes out there?
I just smoked a 14lb turkey for labor day weekend and injected it, needless to say it was a big hit!!!! Use commercial injection with your favorite flavor or combine 1/2 cup garlic-flavored oil, 4 oz of beer 1/2 tsp cayenne. inject throughout the bird. Prior to I covered the bird with a paste, 4 garlic cloves, 1 tbl coarse pepper, 1 tbl kosher salt, 1 tbl garlic oil. Mash together in pestle or bleneer rub on bird cover in plastic and set overnight.
