smoking a 6lb brisket how long

How long should it take to smoke a brisket that goes about 6 LB. I am using a charcoal smoker with charcoal and mesquite wood chunks? It also has a bowl for water in the middle?

the first time i smoked a brisket, it was a full cut brisket. I had to cut it in half to fit in my brinkman smoker. I used water in the water pan. I would allow for at least 6 to 8 hrs cooking time. let me know how it goes.
