Smoking Jerky With Ribs

by Bob
(Central Oregon Coast)

Hi,
I'm going to be smoking some ribs this coming weekend and wanted to make some jerky also. Can jerky be made in the smoker at the same time I'm smoking ribs? Any help on the subject would be most welcome! Thanks, Bob

It's best to smoke your jerky at a different time. Ribs are usually smoked at 225-250 degrees. Jerky will cook at those temperatures instead of dehydrating. Keep the smoker closer to 175 degrees when smoking jerky.
