Smoking Pork Steaks

New to smolking.

Do you have any recipes for smoking pork steaks? I don't know where that cut of meat comes from or if it has a different name.

Should most meat be smoked at approximately 220 degrees or is it ok to increase the time and cook at 180 deg?

Will this make the pork steaks more tender?

There are different types of pork steaks, but the inexpensive ones come from the shoulder area, being slices off of the pork shoulder roast.

Lightly seasoning and smoking at 225 until they just reach doneness is the best way to smoke these. Because they are thin cuts, smoking for a longer time at a lower temperature, or trying to smoke them to a higher temp so they are "falling apart" done will just lead to drier, tougher meat.
