Smoking Turkey Breasts and Legs Together

by Dave
(San Diego)

I have a Brinkman electric kettle smoker with two racks for smoking. I am going to be smoking a 7lb turkey breast and 4 legs for Thanksgiving. Which rack would be best for the legs and which one for the breast and will the cooking times be very much different, or should they all take about the same time?

Smoking Turkey Legs and Turkey Breast

If there's room on the top rack, I'd smoke them all there. It's easier to manage them as they cook that way. And they should be done at about the same time, so that will not be a problem. If one or the other gets done early, just take it out and keep warm until the other turkey part is done.
