smoking uncured sausage

Can you safely smoke non-cured sausage? I'm new at this and just bought 10 Lbs of sausage to smoke and now read many recommend not smoking non-cured sausage - is this true?

I would not cold smoke uncured sausage. There is too much potential for dangerous bacterial growth. Hot smoking at temps over 150 degrees F should present no problem.
