What To Use Instead of Beer In Recipes

by Brian
(Carlisle pa)

I Don't Drink Beer, so...

I need to find something else to use instead of beer, it seems to be a popular part of recipes, for mops and such.

Which makes sense, guys, grills and beer go hand in hand, but I don't drink. I am new to smoking and could use some help,

Thanks, Brian

Beer Substitute for Recipes
by: Bill

Use your imagination. Beer has a little sweetness and a little bitterness to it, so keep that in mind when finding a replacement. The sweet can come from some fruit juice, or even some bbq sauce(but just a little bit. Mix the juice or sauce with water, maybe one or two tablespoons per 12 ounces of water. You could add a bit of vinegar to give it some bite, or some spices for flavor.

If it's the alcohol you're staying away from, you could use non-alcoholic beer in the recipe, or boil regular beer to cook off the alcohol.
